The year may have changed, but the excitement from the stories of the wrestling world have not, so welcome to today's edition of the daily WWE Rumor Roundup, where we try and bring you the biggest stories from the day.

Today we will talk about a former World Champion getting hurt in a rather bizarre accident, and some unfortunate updates for Roman Reigns among other things.

We will also talk about WWE's reaction to a major storyline involving former 13-time World Champion Randy Orton being leaked. So without further ado, let us jump into the biggest stories from today:

#5 WWE unhappy with Randy Orton storyline being leaked

It was rumored that Randy Orton had suffered an injury at a WWE live event in Hershey, Pennsylvania Sunday night. However, it was later revealed by outlets that the injury was, in fact, a work and merely part of a storyline.

While WWE wanted the fans to believe that Orton had suffered a legitimate knee injury, the word got out that it was planned. Sportskeeda's Tom Colohue has reported that WWE is very upset with the leak.

I'm hearing that a lot of people in WWE management are furious that Dave Meltzer leaked backstage information about this week's Randy Orton storyline.
One person told me that they believe that creative find it much harder to write when everyone already knows the ending.

While having a match against AJ Styles at the live event, the former WWE Champion appeared to be seriously injured and the referee had to stop the match mid-way, throwing up the 'X' sign.

While WWE may be upset, there are no plans to change or scrap the storyline and the feud between AJ Styles and Randy Orton will likely continue.

#4 Andrade and Charlotte Flair to tie the knot

Current US Champion Andrade and former Women's Champion Charlotte Flair have been in a serious relationship for a long time. The two RAW Superstars have not hidden their relationship and have shown time and again that they are very much in love.

Andrade tweeted recently indicating that Flair has agreed to marry him:

Even Charlotte Flair tweeted soon after:

'Si' which means 'yes' in English clearly indicates that El Idolo had proposed to The Queen to which she said yes.

Here is what Andrade had stated regarding his relationship with Charlotte Flair earlier:

“As we live in Orlando we train at the Performance Center. She helps me a lot, gives me advice on how to handle the cameras, the promos. She knows a lot about all that. And I have taught her what I learned in Mexico and Japan. Moves, holds, how to get hit, how to hit, how to show more personality, many things she likes. She gives me advice, I give her advice. We are always helping each other, and that benefits us a lot in the relationship we currently have.”

#3 Roman Reigns' record gets broken

The Big Dog Roman Reigns did not have a very good year in 2019 when it came to holding Championships. 2019 became the first year since 2014 that the former WWE Champion failed to hold a Championship belt.

Not just that, the Grand Slam Champion received just one Championship opportunity last year when he faced Shinsuke Nakamura for the IC title. We certainly hope that 2020 will be the year of the Big Dog and he will finally win a major Championship.

#2 Kevin Owens hurt

Kevin Owens suffered a rather unfortunate 'injury' while celebrating the new year. The Prizefighter opened up about this incident on his Twitter account:

The Prizefighter may have suffered a minor setback, but we are confident that it will truly be uphill for him from here on now, especially as rumors are suggesting that he may be facing Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship at Royal Rumble.

#1 Bobby Lashley talks about getting online hate

Former ECW Champion Bobby Lashley has been involved in the most controversial storyline in WWE at the moment, along with Rusev and Lana. The angle that involves Lana dating Bobby Lashley after having dumped and divorced her real-life husband Rusev has drawn mixed reactions from the fans.

While speaking to Sports Illustrated, Lashley opened up about the cyberbullying he had to face thanks to this angle and how he has dealt with it.

Yes, I’ve experienced a tremendous amount of hate. We as a society come out and we’re anti-bullying, anti-hate, anti-this, anti-that, but I think we actually pick and choose who we hate and bully.
“It’s from the fact that this is interracial, because I’ve had guys saying the n-word to me and, ‘I’m going to kill you, we’re going to get you when you come down south.’ I just kind of sit back and laugh about it.”

It has been reported that Vince McMahon is a fan of the angle, so don't expect it to end anytime soon.
