WWE Rumours: Reason behind Ambrose-Lesnar match being a disappointment

This was barely a streetfight

WrestleMania 32 paid off in the most unforeseen ways; be it Stone Cold, Shawn Michaels and Cactus Jack taking out the League of Nations, The Rock squashing Erick Rowan or Shane and Taker truly putting themselves through Hell in a Cell, Dallas was appeased one way or another.

But it stands to debate which was the bigger disappointment – Reigns vs Triple H or Ambrose vs Lesnar? The main event had a lot of ill-will right from its inception, but the Street Fight was burgeoning with promise, at least in the eyes of the Universe.

Well, one of the reasons it did was not up to scratch is because Dean Ambrose’s pressing for more violence was met with overwhelming denial, according to cagesideseats.com. Most guesses at who’s behind it would be correct.

Another even more surprising report is that Charlotte wasn’t booked to win the WWE Women’s Championship until the threshold was crossed at WrestleMania 32. In fact, the grand unveiling of the new belt was supposed to take place on RAW, but it was inaugurated in Dallas.

We may never know which Superstar’s fuming about that call, but it is reported that the decision to have Kevin Owens drop the Intercontinental Championship was made after WrestleMania kicked off.
