Bronny James recently said that he wants to prove that he can play with the best NBA players as the USC star is looking forward to participating in the second round of the 2024 NBA draft combine. Bronny further added that he wanted to prove who he was and that he doesn't shy away from challenges.

Bronny said the words in an interview with the NBA TV reporter Andy Katz. Bronny was asked what he wanted to prove and Bronny James replied:

"That I can play with the best of them and that I don't shy away from the challenges and gonna be who I am."

When asked to explain further, James took his name, enlisted his qualities as a player, and shared that he was very flexible with the playing positions.

He was also asked about how he managed himself after what he went through, and the USC star replied:

"Taking time to myself has been a really big part of why I get up every day and stay motivated to keep working."

Bronny suffered a cardiac arrest in July as he collapsed on the floor during a workout session at USC. He was at the top of the NBA draft discussion then. He underwent surgery and missed the first eight games of the season.

After his return, Bronny averaged 4.8 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2.1 assists in the 2023-24 season, declaring for the NBA draft on April 5. Earlier this week he participated in the drills at the NBA draft combine in Chicago.

Will the Cleveland Cavaliers draft Bronny James?

Speculations are rife about the NBA destination of Bronny. LeBron James had expressed interest in playing with his son in the final phase of his career. Though Bronny has maintained that he wanted to get drafted on his credentials, many continue to speculate on who could be interested in drafting the father-son duo.

Paul Pierce asked Keyshawn Johnson and Skip Bayless on "Undisputed" if LeBron James along with Bronny would choose to go to the Cleveland Cavaliers given it was his first team:

Let’s just say Cleveland drafts Bronny that might entice Bron to go back to Cleveland. Why not finish your last days where you started?

LeBron James can opt out of his contract with the Los Angeles Lakers and be a part of the Cavaliers to play with his son.
