"The AEW audience is 80% comprised of people that also watch WWE" - Hall of Famer makes a bold claim

Do the AEW and WWE audiences have more in common than they realize?
Do the AEW and WWE audiences have more in common than they realize?

AEW and WWE recently went to war on Tuesday night, and the competition is clearly increasing. While online fans can get horribly tribal, Eric Bischoff believes that there's an overlap of fans.

NXT and Dynamite went head-to-head this Tuesday with stacked match cards. WWE notably brought out the likes of The Undertaker and John Cena, and ultimately, the brand beat AEW's flagship show.

During a recent episode of his 83 Weeks podcast, Eric Bischoff explained why he believes a significant amount of All Elite Wrestling fans also watch WWE.

“The AEW audience is 80% comprised of people that also watch WWE. [I’m] convinced of that now. That segment of the WWE audience that was interested in Edge, Adam Copeland. They want to check it out because they’re interested in their Edge but not necessarily in the product."

"So I think to answer your question as briefly as I can, it’s just f**king nearly impossible for me, yeah. Everybody knew about it, and a lot of fans that are fans of Edge wanted to see what that looks like but they weren’t necessarily invested in the product.” (H/T PWMania)

Additionally, Eric Bischoff believes that there's a small percentage of All Elite Wrestling fans who are exclusive.

Eric Bischoff was very impressed with Adam Copeland's AEW WrestleDream debut

The Rated-R Superstar recently took on Luchasaurs in his first-ever match within the promotion. Despite Christian Cage getting involved, Copeland still managed to pick up the win.

During the same podcast episode, Eric Bischoff praised Adam Copeland's debut in the promotion at the recent pay-per-view.

"I think it was done really well. I was happy and excited to see that Adam was introduced at a pay-per-view as a surprise. The fact that he wasn't booked, he wasn't advertised. It was added value, which means he's going to get an even bigger response than he'd have gotten if he had been advertised." (H/T WrestlingInc)

Additionally, Bischoff compared Adam Copeland's debut to other stars who jumped to the promotion but had their arrivals announced. In conclusion, he seemed positive about the veteran's run down the line, but it remains to be seen if he'll have a memorable tenure or not.
