Draymond Green admits being sly to nag opponents: "Your boy don't even want to play with you"

Draymond Green has often been described as one of the NBA's most competitive players. The star forward isn't afraid to use any ammunition he can get to get a mental edge over his opponents.

Throughout his career, Green has been the heart and soul of the Golden State Warriors. One of the game's top defensive players, he will stop at nothing to get inside an opponent's head. It's part of the reason why Green has become such an important part of Golden State's success over the years.

Green, who is 38 and in his 11th season, has turned into a student of the game. He studies his opponents to pick up and tendencies he can use to make him a better defender. But he's also a player who will look to create a mental advantage as well.

On "The Draymond Green Show" podcast, the Warriors forward talked about how he keeps "tabs" on the NBA.

"I keep tabs on the NBA at all times or whether that's for just me as a fan, whether that's for to gain a mental edge on somebody," Green said. "Because you best believe if we play the Los Angeles Lakers, and I believe LeBron was saying that the teammate should be traded, oh, you better believe I'm telling those teammates your boy don't even want to play with you when we play against them."

It was an impressive 2021-22 season for Draymond Green and the Golden State Warriors. One that saw the team win the NBA championship over the Boston Celtics.

Coming into this season, Golden State looked favored to defend its championship crown. Unfortunately for the Warriors, it's been a roller coaster of a year so far. Golden State (20-21), in eighth place in the Western Conference standings, is in the midst of a three-game losing streak.

The Warriors have shown that they can get hot and go on extended runs before. But as the season continues, it looks as if Golden State is struggling to find answers.

Green continues to produce at an efficient level, averaging 7.7 points, 6.9 rebounds and 6.7 assists per game while shooting 49.8%.

Golden State, which is 3-16 away from home, will begin a five-game road trek with a game against the San Antonio Spurs (13-29) in the Alamodome on Friday.
