Watch: Rapper Lil Wayne calls Russell Westbrook “best dressed athlete”

LA Lakers superstar Russell Westbrook is known for his rather eccentric approach to fashion. This is held in particularly high regard in the entertainment world. Popular American rapper Lil Wayne recently gave Westbrook props for his fashion sense.

Russell Westbrook has earned a reputation for a lot of things as an athlete. As one of the greatest athletes to play the sport of basketball, Westbrook has made his mark on the game, on and off the court.

On the court, Westbrook is known for his aggressive style of play and passionate displays of emotion. Off the court, however, the Lakers superstar dons several masks.

Brodie is known for his humanitarian work as he contributes back to society through charities. He also wears some interesting clothing when showing up for games and events. From safety jackets to other avant-garde outfits, Westbrook hasn't shied away from donning the most daring fits.

This aspect of his character has garnered some repute from the entertainment industry as well. In an interview with a young fan, American rapper Lil Wayne was asked to name the best-dressed athlete in his opinion. He responded by saying:

"Best dressed athlete by far, hands down, is Russell Westbrook."

Westbrook isn't the first to display a bold sense of fashion in the NBA. In recent years, athletes have taken to showing an inclination to flexing a great outfit prior to a game. Another name that pops up in this context is Washington Wizards star Kyle Kuzma.

While Westbrook's sense of style hasn't always hit the mark, he certainly hasn't been fazed by the criticism and backlash it has garnered.

Russell Westbrook has been impressive as of late

Westbrook's demotion to the bench rotation was initially met with a lot of skepticism. However, the 9x All-Star has looked like the best version of himself while leading the Lakers' second line.

With LeBron James out of the lineup due to injury, Brodie has picked up the slack while displaying the flair he is known for. This is definitely a promising sight for the Purple and Gold as the team racks up another win in James' absence.

Westbrook had a double-double of 10 points and 10 assists in the Lakers' recent win against San Antonio.

With the star taking massive strides in improving with each game, the team will continue to ride the momentum as they head into their next matchup against the Phoenix Suns on Tuesday.
