Kolkata Knight Riders beat Delhi Daredevils by 9 wickets at Eden Gardens in their opening match of this year’s IPL. It was a clinical performance by the hosts as they never allowed Delhi to bounce back into the game.

After putting into bat by Gautam Gambhir, the Delhi batsmen were completely outfoxed by the bowlers as they lost four wickets inside the first 6 overs. Andre Russell took the first three wickets and the spinners Brad Hogg and Piyush Chawla capitalized on it and stamped their authority over the batsmen. Hogg captured three wickets while Chawla accounted for 2 as Delhi were all-out for 98 inside the 18th over.
