IPL 2018, MI vs KKR: Mumbai Indians (MI) probable playing XI against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR)

Mumbai Indians take on Kolkata Knight Riders in what is possibly a do-or-die encounter for them. With three wins in nine matches, the Rohit Sharma-led team are placed at the fifth spot on the table, courtesy a positive net run-rate.

If the defending champions are to make it to the playoffs this season, they'll have to win all five of their remaining matches, starting from today. Coming off a win over Kings XI Punjab, the team from Mumbai might line up like this today.

Suryakumar Yadav, who has been a revelation with the bat for Mumbai will continue opening the innings for them. With 340 runs in nine innings, the right-handed batsman would want to continue his form against his former side. West Indies' Evin Lewis will partner him up top and the duo would be expected to give MI a swift start.

Ishan Kishan, who didn't trouble the scorers in the three matches before facing KXIP, will continue taking up the number three spot. The youngster got back among the runs with a 25-run knock against Ravi Ashwin-led side.

Rohit Sharma, despite calls from those in and around the cricketing world to move up the order, will continue batting at number four. A lot rests on the skipper's form if Mumbai hope to make a final push to qualify for the playoffs.

JP Duminy, Hardik Pandya and Krunal Pandya are three batsmen who have been used as floaters by MI and they'd walk out to the middle depending upon the match situation. Following them would be Australian all-rounder Ben Cutting, who can provide some meaty blows with the bat as well.

The Mumbai bowling line-up will be led by Jasprit Bumrah, who has 10 wickets in the tournament thus far. Mitchell McClenaghan (10 wickets) and Mayank Markande (12 wickets) will complete the line-up.
