Anderson shares the record with Peterson

So who gave the most runs in an over in Test Cricket? South African left arm spinner Robin Peterson holds the record, but he has company in the form of Jimmy Anderson who has also leaked the same as him. We will take a look at the list below.

Brian Lara (WI)26Danish Kaneria (PAK)2006-07Multan

1. Brian Lara (28 runs)

Robin Peterson is at number 2 on the ODI list and on top in the Test list. That is some distinction which he would never want. Lara took him apart on that day which included four fours and a couple of sixes.

2. George Bailey (28 runs)

Bailey finally had a crack in Test Cricket, but it wasn’t memorable for big runs. But, he wasn’t dropped before he could share a world record with the legendary Lara. Anderson, one of the best bowlers of this generation was thrashed all over the WACA in that particular over.

3. Shahid Afridi (27 runs)

What must have been running through Bhajji’s mind when he was hit for consecutive sixes of the first four balls of his over by the monster Afridi? Thankfully for him, Afridi could only manage a couple and single of the next two balls. But the damage was already done and that’s why Bhajji finds himself at number 3 on the list.

4. Craig Mcmillan (26 runs)

Mcmillan absolutely feasted on the part time bowling of Younis Khan to score 26 runs of the over that included five fours and a six. He made 98 and New Zealand won that Test by an innings margin.

5. Brian Lara (26 runs)

Brian Lara again!! He absolutely loves murdering spin bowling. Over the years he has always dominated Muralitharan, so comparatively Kaneria wasn’t really the one you would expect to give much of a trouble to Lara and he was thrashed for 26 runs in that particular over.
