New Zealand vs Pakistan, 2nd T20I: Probable XI, Match Prediction, Pitch Report, Weather Forecast, and Live Streaming Details

New Zealand v Pakistan - Men
Can Pakistan beat New Zealand to level the series 1-1?

New Zealand will host Pakistan for the second T20I of the ongoing five-match series at Seddon Park in Hamilton on January 14, Sunday. The hosts have a 1-0 lead over the visitors, having won the series opener at Eden Park, Auckland.

Winning the toss, Pakistan put the Kiwis to bat. The Men in Black got off to a shaky start as their opening batter Devon Conway was dismissed for a golden duck in the first over. It was then the partnership between Finn Allen and skipper Kane Williamson that stabilized New Zealand’s innings.

After Allen’s dismissal, Williamson and Daryl Mitchell put up a 78-run third-wicket partnership as New Zealand’s scorecard received a massive boost. Some decent contributions from the middle-order batters helped the hosts finish with 226 runs to their name at the loss of eight wickets.

Pakistan’s top-order witnessed a change as Saim Ayub joined Mohammad Rizwan as the opening batter. The former went berserk as he notched up 27 runs in just eight deliveries to take his side to a terrific start during the chase. Rizwan and Babar Azam shared a decent partnership before the former was sent packing courtesy of Tim Southee.

Notably, Babar was the only player with a 50+ score, as the middle and lower middle-order batters failed to create an impact. Southee breathed fire as he picked up a brilliant four-wicket haul as Pakistan were all out in the 18th over, scoring 180 runs. With the second T20I fast approaching, the visitors will look to level the series while the hosts will look to extend their lead.
