No surprises as retired batting maestro Sachin Tendulkar leads the way as the man with the most fours in international cricket. Former Australian captain Ricky Ponting has 2695 four from 668 innings.

4000 fours in just colossal. You can almost be certain that there is no one in world cricket right now who can go on to break that record. In 664 matches, he has also amassed 34357 runs. With Sachin Tendulkar, you are always going to deal with huge huge numbers.

2. Ricky Ponting (Australia)

Whether it’s the cut shot, or the pull shot, Ricky does it as good as anybody with pure grace. He has sent the ball to the boundary on 2781 occasions. He is also second only behind Sachin in the list of most international centuries at 71. Ponting has also hit 246 sixes totally in his career.

3. Kumar Sangakkara (Sri Lanka)

The only active player on this top 5 list is the Sri Lankan veteran Kumar Sangakkara. He is so close to breaking Ponting’s record and move in to the second spot. He has totally hit 53 tons in his international career.

4. Rahul Dravid (India)

You wouldn’t associate him with big six hitting, so naturally with almost 25k runs to his name, you would find him on this list. Pure wristy classy shots from Dravid’s bat have been a delight to every fan over the years and he is 4th on the list with 2604 fours.

5. Brian Lara (West Indies)

The West Indian maestro is in at number 5, but for how long is the question. Mahela Jayawardena is fast approaching and could very well take over from Lara by the time he retires.
