Video: Cook confused by DRS failures

England captain Alastair Cook discusses the problems with the Decision Review System whilst Australia captain Michael Clarke expressed his desire to move on from the cheating allegations levelled at England ahead of the fourth Ashes Test at Durham.

Alastair Cook (on DRS issues):“I assume it is Ashes cricket and that is why it has thrown up a few things like this. As I say, in the past it has worked really well and I don’t know if it is just one of those things where there has been three or four strange occurrences where there has been a noise but no mark. I don’t know why, I don’t know the actual technology of hotspot – I am sure they are working away behind the scenes to work out why that has been happening.”

Michael Clarke (on bat tampering allegations):“I found it quite amusing to be honest and I would prefer not to talk about it anymore. I think you guys have had a couple of days to write and talk about it but for me the focus has to be on cricket. I think there has been enough good cricket played in this series and there is a huge Test match starting for the Australian team tomorrow so I would like to focus on the match that is in front of us.”

Alastair Cook (on retaining the Ashes):“Obviously it was a strange day at Old Trafford in the circumstances we retained the Ashes. The last couple of series have been big moments out in the middle. This was obviously more behind closed doors the actual moment and over the last couple of days it has been a bit of a media storm. We knew that it would happen at some stage in the Ashes. It has kind of taken a little bit of the gloss of the fact that we have managed to win it in such a short space of time.”
