Zimbabwe takes pride with the lone victory

Zimbabwe defeated India by winning the match by 10 runs in the second and final Twenty20 International (T20I) at the Harare Sports Club here on Sunday. The home team recorded their first ever win against India in T20Is. This is also their first ever T20I victory in Harare.

After winning the toss, Zimbabwe's stand-in captain Sikandar Raza decided to bat first. Opener Chamu Chibhabha's 51-ball 67 lifted Zimbabwe to 145/7 in 20 overs against India.

Right-hander Chibhabha registered his fourth T20I fifty. He was a lone warrior in home team's camp as the wickets kept falling on the other end.

He completed his half-century in 38 deliveries and hit nine fours during his innings. For India, Bhuvneshwar and Mohit took two wickets each, while Binny, Sandeep and Axar picked a wicket apiece.

The visitors lost their first wicket early as skipper Ajinkya Rahane was run-out on the third ball itself. Then after short intervals, India started losing wickets regularly.

Robin Uthappa showed some signs of getting used to the wicket but soon gave away his wicket to Sean Williams after scoring good 42 runs off just 25 balls.

Graeme Cremer was pick of the bowler in Zimbabwe's camp as he took 3 wickets by giving away just 18 runs in 4 overs. Williams, Chris Mpofu and Taurai Muzarabani picked 1 wicket each.

Chibhabha was awarded Man-of-the-Match for his useful fifty which helped the hosts to post a defendable target.
