Genshin Impact's 4.6 update has added a new World Quest called The Last Day of Remuria, in which you must break the chains that bind Scylla. Scylla is a giant dragon in the Sea of Bygone Eras who appears akin to a Narwhal. The creature is tied with three Dragonborn-Supressing Shackles which must be broken to complete this objective.

The game will provide you with the following prompt to guide you in this mission:

"Follow the direction in which the chains in the Sea of Bygone Eras extend and find a way to break them."

This article will guide you on how to break the chains that bind Scylla in Genshin Impact.

How to break the chains that bind Scylla in Genshin Impact

To free Scylla from the Dragonborn-Supressing Shackles, you must remove the chains from the stone pillars they are tied to in Genshin Impact. You can reach these pillars by following the chains towards their source.

Chain #1

The first chain that binds Scylla originates from a small cavern on the southern side of the Sea of Bygone Eras. You must swim to the location shown on the map above to enter it. Once inside, you will have to defeat a few Praetorain Golems.

Then, you can break the bind from the stone pillar by using your music box and hold-pressing to play the Symphony. This will ensue a cutscene showcasing the Scylla being freed from the particular bind.

You will be rewarded with a Precious chest after successfully breaking the first chain.

Chain #2

Following the second chain will lead you to another cavern called Portus Anticus on the western side. You can find the entrance marked on the map above.

Like before, you must defeat Praetorian Golems here as well to be able to break the chain that binds Scylla. Afterward, play the Symphony to free the creature and obtain a Precious chest.

Chain #3

The third stone pillar can be found at the bottom of the sea at Hortus Euergetis. To break the bind here, you must use the power of your music box to influence the Washer Octopus nearby.

By tapping the Symphony when the Washer Octopus gets close to the Resonant Anemones, you can halt it. You must do this for all four octopuses.

Following this, break the bind from the stone pillar to free Scylla from the final chain and obtain a Precious chest.
