Greater Noida - A bevy of celebrities, including film stars, cricketers, Olympians and politicians, on Sunday thronged the Buddh International Circuit (BIC) here to witness the second edition of the Indian Grand Prix.

Among those spotted were Bollywood actors Neha Dhupia, Gul Panag, Dino Morea, Sonali Bendre with her husband Goldie Behl, Mandira Bedi and Bengali actress Locket.

Olympians too turned out in numbers in Sushil Kumar (silver medallist in London), Vijay Kumar (silver medallist), Gagan Narang (bronze medallist), Deepika Kumari and Vijender Singh. Narang also had the honours of waving the chequered flag.

Cricketer Harbhajan Singh along with his girlfriend Geeta Basra and her sister Ruby were seen going to and fro from the Ferrari garage to the team building before the start of the race.

Flamboyant southpaw Yuvraj Singh and Virat Kohli made a late entry and went straight to the paddock club.

Lead actors of the upcoming movie “Son of the Sardaar” Sonakshi Sinha and Ajay Devgan opened the race by singing the national anthem along with singer Shaan and music composer duo of Vishal and Shekhar.

“Honestly speaking, I don’t follow much of F1, but I was more keen to attend this event as this will be Michael Schumacher’s last race. Also there was more excitement to listen to the sound of the cars from the stands. I think the experience of watching the race live from the circuit venue will be a different experience altogether,” a smiling Sonakshi said.

Actor Ajay Devgan added: “It’s nice to be here at the BIC and I’m looking forward to enjoying the race. I support all the teams and wish them all the best.”

Asked why he didn’t get his wife and kids at the circuit, Ajay replied: “My kids are too small so I couldn’t get them for the race. I hope they grow older and maybe then I shall get them here.”

Also present were Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and making a late dash to the track was IPL chairman Rajiv Shukla.
