The 125th edition of the Durand Cup, will be played from 16th August to 2nd September at the Ambedkar Stadium, Delhi.
It is known that AIFF has fixed the date for 125th edition of Durand Football Tournament 2012 from 16th August to 2nd September 2012.
The Durand Football Tournament was started by Sir Mortimer Durand in 1888 at Shimla with the venue shifted to New Delhi in 1940. Since Independence, East Bengal Club and Mohun Bagan AC have won 16 titles each.
Last years tournament was won by Churchill Brothers, defeating Paryag united 4-5 in penalty shoot out.
The winner of the esteemed Durand Cup gets two million INR and they will go into the domestic campaign with confidence.
