Manchester United take on Premier League leaders Manchester City on Sunday at Old Trafford in an eagerly anticipated fixture.

United know that a win will take them within five points of their rivals and they come into the game after a brilliant away victory over Arsenal.

Red Devils' boss Jose Mourinho was pleased with his side's performance against the Gunners, but he knows that they will have to be more solid defensively if they are to take any points away from Pep Guardiola's side.

The Portuguese spoke to the media ahead of the fixture and revealed some key pieces of information.

Eric Bailly is UNAVAILABLE

Mourinho revealed that Manchester United will be without defender Eric Bailly for the fixture. The centre-back's injury seems to be worse than first anticipated.

Mourinho said bluntly, according to Mirror:

Eric Bailly is not available.

The good thing for Mourinho is that Marcos Rojo has returned to action better than ever after suffering cruciate ligament damage last season.

The Reds are also boosted by the return of English defender Phil Jones, who is available for selection.

Nemanja Matic will play with injury

United midfielder Nemanja Matic will play against City even though he is carrying an injury, which shows how crucial the Serbian international is for the side.

Mourinho confirmed that Matic will play through the pain and will most likely have a very busy day in the centre of the pitch against the likes of Kevin De Bruyne and David Silva.

Mourinho believes United and City aren't the only title contenders

Mourinho revealed that he believes there are other sides in the Premier League who can be crowned as champions in May.

Chelsea are breathing down United's neck, with Liverpool and Arsenal also pushing for a top four finish. With plenty of football remaining this season, Mourinho feels that any of them can fight for top spot.
