Cesc Fabregas: Farewell Barca

Xavi Hernandez, Spain national team and former Barcelona teammate of Cesc Fabregas has said he is very happy for Fabregas’s move to Chelsea this summer.

The long-drawn transfer saga which ended with Fabregas moving to Stamford Bridge for reportedly $27 million has induced reactions from teammates and all of the footballing community.

Cesc Fabregas, 27, who was touted to take the Barcelona legend’s position as and when he left the club or retired, had an underwhelming three seasons at the Camp Nou. Fabregas never made the impact he was expected to make after returning to his boyhood club after 8 years at Arsenal.

Xavi speaking to the press before Spain’s World Cup match against Netherlands said "It's a big loss for Barcelona.”

“It's his future and he's decided on it. I wish him all the luck in the world because I consider him a friend.”

"It's great news for Cesc. He's content and looks happy. It's a great chance for him to play in a big club.”

“That was what he wanted and he seems happy. Now he will be able to relax knowing what his future for the next few years is to be."
