Having managed to garner 17 points from eight games and occupy the top of the I-League 2017-18 points table, East Bengal will look to continue the good run against Churchill Brothers FC.

The Goan outfit is yet to get off the mark this season and after a series of five losses they would look to salvage at least a point against East Bengal.

History between the two teams:

Past ties between the two teams reveal that Churchill have always been the hindrance for the Red and Golds. Since 2004-2005 season the Kolkata giants have failed to do a double against the Goan outfit in the I-League. However, after beating the Goans in the first leg in Kolkata, East Bengal have the chance to achieve the mark.

Team news:

In his last match against Indian Arrows, Khalid Jamil decided to field a false nine formation. Joby Justin was included in the first eleven in place of the Brazilian forward Charles De Souza along with Cavin Lobo, as Katsumi Yusa and Laldanmahwia Ralte stormed through the wings.

The good news for Jamil is that Willis Deon Plaza is fully fit all set to start against Churchill Brothers. The Trinidad & Tobago marksman was instrumental in the home fixture against Churchill as he managed to score an injury-time winner to earn all three points for the Red & Golds.

Churchill Brothers have revamped their squad after their worst ever start in the history of I-League campaign. They have roped in three foreign recruits Hussein Eldor (Lebanon), Bektur Talgat (Kyrgyzstan) and Cisse Gwada (Gambia). Other than that they have brought in three domestic players Jovel Martins ( FC Goa), Wayne Vaz (FC Pune City) and Pawan Kumar(FC Pune City) on loan.

Telecast details:

The match will be aired live on Star Sports 2 from Tilak Maidan, Vasco Da Gama, Goa at 8pm on Monday. You can also catch the mouth-watering clash on Hotstar.
