Borussia Dortmund prepare to meet Hamburg in the Bundesliga.
When asked about last season’s games against Hamburg, both of which Dortmund lost, Jurgen Klopp said: “We have to get back at them. We have to admit although we played badly against them at home (last season) and deserved to lose. The away game was a strange game, attempts to score was 30 to four, but we still lost. It doesn’t happen all that often, but it happened that time. I think it was the return of (Hamburg captain) Rafael van der Vaart. Now we have to get even and we would like to do that.”
“We now have seven games in three weeks and all we have done so far (this season) is prepare for this extreme period. When you look at those (games) you have the feeling that you have to win them all, not because we are better, but because they are so important . This hot phase begins with the game against Hamburg. It’s at home which Hamburg didn’t notice last year (did not mind), but it would of course be good to correct that this year and clearly we have a plan for that.”
On last year when Dortmund often lost points before or after Champions League games Borussia Dortmund Klopp said: “We haven’t lost all the games, but we lost a few points that is true. We are in a new season and we should have learned to concentrate intensively on the particular competition we are playing in, which on Saturday is called the Bundesliga. There are a lot of themes under which the next game can be played: ‘revenge, Bundesliga, get the points back’ so at the moment I cannot imagine that when we meet again next week we will have played Hamburg and Napoli – that seems crazy.”
