Belal Muhammad reacted to the official announcement about his upcoming main event against welterweight champion Leon Edwards.

Over the last year, Muhammad has been sidelined while patiently waiting for a title shot. Luckily for him, the time has finally come, as UFC CEO Dana White announced earlier today that 'Remember The Name' will have an opportunity to extend his nine-fight win streak and dethrone Edwards.

On July 27, the UFC will return to Manchester, England, for a pay-per-view event, UFC 304, inside the Co-op Live. In the main event, Edwards looks to secure his third welterweight title defense against Muhammad.

Muhammad's live reaction to the title shot was filmed and posted on social media. The 34-year-old added the following caption to the footage on X:

"Alhamdillah Thought this day would never come gods timing is the best timing... Main event Muhammad."

UFC 304 won't be the first time Leon Edwards and Belal Muhammad have fought. In March 2021, they met inside the UFC APEX and only fought one round before 'Rocky' landed an unintentional eye poke, resulting in a no-contest.

Since then, Muhammad has climbed the rankings with five more wins, including his latest against Gilbert Burns (unanimous decision). Meanwhile, Edwards secured four high-profile victories against Nate Diaz, Kamaru Usman x2, and Colby Covington.

Dana White's announcement video earlier today also featured the UFC 304 co-main event. In the heavyweight division, Tom Aspinall will defend his interim throne against number four-ranked Curtis Blaydes, a rematch from the July 2022 meeting where Aspinall suffered a significant knee injury in 15 seconds.

After recovering from his injury, Aspinall bounced back with first-round knockout wins against Marcin Tybura and Sergei Pavlovich. As for Blaydes, he's coming off an impressive second-round knockout win against Jailton Almeida.

The UFC 304 has three other confirmed main card matchups - Arnold Allen vs Giga Chikadze (featherweight), Muhammad Mokaev vs Manel Kape (flyweight), and Bobby Green vs Paddy Pimblett.

Several fights have also been announced for the preliminary portion - Nathaniel Wood vs Daniel Pineda (featherweight), Shauna Bannon vs Ravena Oliveira (women's bantamweight), and Molly McCann vs Bruna Brasil (women's strawweight).
