NASCAR announces qualifying order for pit crew challenge at North Wilkesboro Speedway

The 2023 NASCAR Cup Series season is taking a break from its regular season points races this week in favor of the All-Star weekend.

The North Wilkesboro Speedway is all set to host the All-Star Open and All-Star Race on Sunday (May 21). The All-Star Race will kick off at 8 pm ET, in a 200-lap action-packed contest while the All-Star Open will begin at 5:30 pm ET, in a 100-lap event.

Located in North Wilkesboro, North Carolina, the North Wilkesboro Speedway boasts a short oval track on the schedule with a 0.625-mile of total track length.

The All-Star weekend will start with practice on Friday. It will be followed by qualifying (pit crew challenge), which will set the starting lineups for the All-Star Heat Races and the All-Star Open. During this challenge, the qualifying will be based on the four-tire pit stop time of each car.

The pit crew challenge order is set by the current driver point table in reverse order. Each driver’s qualifying time will be determined by their pit stop time from the pit crew challenge.
