Aaron Rodgers has finally spoken. After emerging from the darkness retreat he went on, he was silent for a few days, not telling anyone what he had decided or experienced. After spending three days in the dark, Rodgers still hasn't made a decision on his NFL future.
On his podcast, the Green Bay Packers quarterback said he would make a decision soon enough after giving it plenty of thought.
"I touched on many of the feelings on both sides in the darkness. I'm thankful for that time. There's a finality to the decision. I don't make it lightly. I don't want to drag anybody around. I'm answering questions about it because I got asked about it.
"I'm talking about it because it's important to me. If you don't like it and you think it's drama, and you think I'm being a diva or whatever, just tune it out. That's fine."
He finished:
"But this is my life. It's important to me. I'll make a decision soon enough and we'll go down that road. I'll be really excited about it."
It's clear that Rodgers isn't quite ready to make a decision on his NFL future, but that time is coming soon.
Aaron Rodgers hasn't come up with a way forward
In his first announcement since emerging from the darkness, Aaron Rodgers made it clear that he doesn't have a clear plan going forward. He mentioned that he knows it's best to make a decision as early as possible, but that he just doesn't have an answer at the moment.
Free agency begins soon and that is arguably when a decision like this will need to be made.
However, he still has time to think. If he's deciding on retiring or playing for the Green Bay Packers, then he has a little more time.
If he's going to be traded to the New York Jets, Las Vegas Raiders or elsewhere, then he might need to show a little more urgency. Nevertheless, he still has time to make what will be one of the most important decisions of his life.
