Dallas insider claims even Tom Brady could not have saved Cowboys in 2022

The Dallas Cowboys beat Tom Brady in the playoffs last year to end his glittering career. However, they themselves then lost in the next round, losing in the divisional round to the San Francisco 49ers.

Dallas insider Reid D Hanson identified the problems that afflicted them, and it was not the quarterback position he was looking at. He said that it was the offensive line and receiving units that were the problem for why Dak Prescott did not fare any better.

He went even as far as to say that except for maybe Patrick Mahomes and Aaron Rodgers, who are known to avoid sack pressure better than others in the league, any other quarterback would have struggled. He wrote on USA Today:

"There aren’t many QBs not named Aaron Rodgers or Patrick Mahomes who can survive a season with a bottom tier WR corps and an offensive line ranked as the fifth-worst in pass block win rate."

He pointed to Tom Brady's last season with the New England Patriots and how he looked bad behind a misfiring offense. Moving to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, which he contended, had a more loaded offense, the GOAT would win the Super Bowl in the very next season. He said:

"Even the GOAT himself, Tom Brady, looked like expired clam chowder in his last season in New England. Something that changed instantly when he joined that stacked Buccaneers roster a season later. It’s amazing how impactful a supporting cast is on a QB’s success."

Is Tom Brady ready for return to New England Patriots?

Robert Kraft has confirmed that Tom Brady will be returning to the New England Patriots for their season opener. It will give a chance to the team's faithful to serenade their greatest quarterback one more time now that he's retired.

However, there has been speculation that he may eventually be coaxed out of retirement to help the franchise he took to greatness. If Mac Jones and Bailey Zappe are unable to steady the situation there, many NFL fans believe that someone like Tom Brady could do the job.

He has previously, after all, unretired before. He retired after the 2021 season, only to come back in 2022 saying that he had unfinished business with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

People might now believe he has still something left to prove with the Patriots and show the world that New England cannot win without him. While the odds of that happening remain low, if it transpires, it would be a fascinating story.
