Peyton Manning did not hold back over Eli Manning's horrific 40-yard dash time at NFL Combine

Peyton and Eli Manning enjoy having fun, most of the time at the expense of each other. Both had very productive careers, Peyton more so than Eli, despite both winning two Super Bowls.

But before playing the NFL, every NFL hopeful has to run the 40-yard dash. For receivers, this is the one stat they are measured on. Less so for a quarterback, although it is nice to have a player who can run if needed.

Peyton and Eli weren't the quickest in the NFL, and their Combine numbers show it.

Peyton once took a hilarious, cheeky dig at Eli's Combine time. In 2015 at the Tulane Football camp, Peyton said, via the sportsrush.com:

“He [Eli]’s the only guy who ran his 40-yard dash wearing his helmet. I don’t know why he had his helmet on. I remember he ran a 6.2, that was the time that I heard, a humbling moment for Eli."

While that is a light-hearted dig at his brother, Peyton's 40-yard dash time wasn't great either (4.88 seconds), and who can forget that superb fake against Dallas that saw Peyton stroll into the endzone?

Whether or not Eli's 40-yard dash was 6.2 seconds (we doubt it), that is the story Peyton is going with, and it makes for excellent viewing when the pair take shots at each other.

While Peyton and Eli Manning didn't set the Combine alight, they did light up the NFL, winning multiple Super Bowls during their time in the league.

Peyton gained more fame as he broke several records. Meanwhile, Eli is famously known for ending the New England Patriots' undefeated season in the Super Bowl and then stopping Tom Brady yet again in the league's penultimate game.

Peyton finished with 71,940 passing yards and 539 touchdowns. He was a two-time Super Bowl champ, a 14-time Pro Bowler, a seven-time All-Pro, and a five-time NFL MVP. He is now a member of the Hall of Fame.

Meanwhile, Eli Manning spent all his career playing for the New York Giants, totaling 57,023 passing yards and 366 touchdowns. He was a four-time Pro Bowler and won two Super Bowl MVPs.

The Manning brothers had outstanding careers, even if their 40-yard dash times were less than ideal.
