5 superstars WWE must invest in on the main roster

Cesaro is easily the most underrated superstar in the WWE

For nearly a year now, WWE has been focusing on grooming and developing Roman Reigns, with the intention of making him the next face of the company. WWE wants to pass on the mantle from John Cena to Roman Reigns, and Roman has been the only superstar after the likes of Cena and Batista to have been groomed and booked on a long term basis. However, there are various other deserving superstars on the roster who’ve been forgotten, or pushed behind the curtains. In this article, we take a look at five stars who deserve to be in the main event spot, and the superstars WWE must invest in, at least in 2016.Honorary mention: Dolph ZigglerZiggler’s case is quite sad. After becoming the World champion, Ziggler suffered a concussion couple of years ago, and his stock in the company came crashing down. Ziggler, for some reason, had to suffer the wrath of the WWE management, and was in the dog house for nearly a year. With WWE having nothing for him at the moment, there are rumors about Ziggler leaving the WWE soon. However, if WWE chooses to invest in “The show off”, Ziggler can once again prove that he is one of the best talents in the company at the moment.

#5 Cesaro

Cesaro is easily the most underrated superstar in the WWE

If we talk about some of the most underrated superstars in the organization today, the one name that pops up in almost every conversation is Cesaro. The Swiss Superman was on the verge of breaking the proverbial glass ceiling last year, after winning the first ever Andre the Giant Memorial battle royal at WrestleMania, and after being paired up with Paul Heyman, everyone expected Cesaro to be achieve main event status by the end of the year.

However, the exact opposite happened, and Cesaro’s momentum was halted.

While Vince McMahon was one of the most vocal detractors of Cesaro, which explained the sudden halt of Cesaro’s push, Cesaro has won over the fans, and once again found his footing this year. But with his recent unfortunate injury, Cesaro has been sidelined for the remainder of the year, and will return probably after WrestleMania next year.

In any case, Cesaro has the time to reinvent himself, and come back much stronger. WWE should listen to the fans, and invest in the superstar, with Cesaro having the potential to be one of the biggest superstars of this generation.

#4 Kevin Owens

Owens made immediate impact on the main roster by beating Cena

Perhaps there has never been any other superstar except for Brock Lesnar, to have made such a huge impact in such a short time on the main roster, quite like Kevin Owens.

Owens’ first PPV on the main roster saw him defeat John Cena, and although Owens has lost quite a lot of momentum since then, he is still one of the biggest names to have jumped from the independents to the WWE.

With Owens also being one of the top heels in the WWE at the moment, WWE needs to build him up and push him as a bona fide main eventer. One of the biggest problems with WWE has been their hesitancy in pushing independent stars, but with Owens being one of the very few top heels in the company, it would be better for both the parties if WWE is successful in building him as one of the dominant heels in the company.

Owens is rumored to feud with Brock Lesnar during the WrestleMania season, and if turns out to be true, it can be beneficial for both the superstars, and Owens can get the rub from Lesnar.

#3 Dean Ambrose

The lunatic fringe has been stuck in the mid card for the past two years

Dean Ambrose was expected to be the breakout star during his days with The Shield, but with WWE going ahead with Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns as the future of the company, Ambrose has been lingering in the mid card. With the creative failing to come up with relevant feuds for Ambrose, he has been left in the mid card with some of the other upper mid card talent.

Even after Seth Rollins got injured, WWE went ahead with Roman Reigns as planned to become the face of the company, while most of the fans wanted Dean Ambrose to become the WWE World Heavyweight champion.

Although Ambrose can play a good babyface role, his main strength lies in being a sinister heel. However, WWE has been unable to give him good air time, with them focusing more on Roman Reigns.

With Ambrose now becoming the WWE Intercontinental champion, hopefully WWE can build him as the next big babyface, and put him in a program with Roman Reigns, with Ambrose turning on his brother.

#2 Sasha Banks

Instead of using her on pre – shows, WWE should build Sasha’s character

When we talk about the Divas Revolution, although it started well initially, WWE has once again resorted to making them an afterthought, instead of focusing more on their in – ring skills and their ability to put on great matches.

While Sasha Banks and Becky Lynch tore the house down during their NXT TakeOver match, they were booked on the pre – show of the TLC PPV. Moreover, with Sasha being paired with Naomi and Tamina, it feels like the other two are holding Sasha back, and Sasha should be left alone, like she was at NXT.

Once again, WWE has been focusing more on Charlotte and her father, Ric Flair, instead of focusing on their storytelling in a match. An incredible talent like Sasha shouldn’t be made to sing ridiculous carols on the pre show, and instead should be booked in a match against someone like Becky Lynch on the PPV.

One can only hope that the WWE will change their perspective of the divas, and not just in storyline, at least in 2016.

#1 Bray Wyatt

Bray Wyatt has been one of the most under utilized talents in the WWE

At number one is a superstar who has been a perennial mid-carder, but deserves a whole lot more. Bray Wyatt and the Wyatt Family can be one of the most dominant factions in WWE history, along with Bray’s character being one of the most interesting characters in the company today.

However, WWE has been using the faction as a way to get the other superstars over. How are we supposed to take Bray seriously, when he ends up losing matches against superstars like Ambrose or Reigns, even when they’re outnumbered?

Bray Wyatt can become one of WWE’s biggest stars if given the opportunity. With the Wyatt Family currently dismantling the ECW Originals, it once again gives the creative team the chance to properly build Wyatt, and insert him in the main event picture in 2016.

With Bray’s talent and unquestionable charisma, he can easily become the breakout star in 2016, if given the chance.
