#1 Pete Sampras (Macao 2007)

Federer took on Pete Sampras in an exhibition match in Macao in 2007. Even though Sampras had retired a few years ago, the American played some brilliant tennis and gave Federer a run for his money.

#2 David Nalbandian - Australian Open, 2003

David Nalbandian and Federer faced each other in the round of 16 at the 2003 Australian Open. Federer, who was just 21 back then, ended up losing the match in five sets to the Argentine.

#3 Rafael Nadal - Tennis Masters Cup, 2007

Federer got everything right in this match against Rafael Nadal in the semifinals of the Tennis Masters Cup held in Shanghai in 2007. He beat the Spaniard in straight sets.

He also served four aces in a row when he was 0-30 down.

#4 Sergiy Stakhovsky - Dubai Open, 2012

Federer was trailing 0-40 in the third game of the first set against Stakhovsky in the quarterinals of the 2011 Dubai Open. But the Swiss genius came up with four brilliant aces to take it to deuce and subsequently win the game.

He eventually won the match in straight sets.

#5 Jo-Wilfried Tsonga - Montreal, 2011

Jo-Wilfried Tsonga was on song against Federer in the Round of 16 of the Montreal Masters in 2007. He got the better of Fedex in three sets.

But Federer did have his moment on court when he fired four aces in a row from 0-30 down.

#6 Juan Monaco - US Open, 2011

Federer thrashed Juan Monaco in the Round of 16 at the 2011 US Open. He won a game in 57 seconds, thanks to four aces on the trot.

Federer went on to win the match 6-1, 6-2, 6-0.

#7 Novak Djokovic - Wimbledon, 2014

Federer made a brilliant comeback in 2014 after a disappointing season in 2013. He came painfully close to winning the Wimbledon final against Novak Djokovic, but the Djoker ended up winning his second title at SW19 in five sets.

Federer served four aces in a row while serving at 4-4 in the 3rd set. He served an ace in the sixth game as well, technically making it five in a row.

#8 Novak Djokovic - Shanghai Masters, 2014

Federer avenged his 2014 Wimbledon loss by defeating Novak Djokovic in straight sets in the semifinals of the Shanghai Masters that year.

He served four aces in a row while leading 4-3 in the first set against the Serb. He eventually won the match 6-4, 6-3.
