In a matter of four weeks, Wrestlemania will be live from the Levi’s Stadium. It’ll be the 31st edition of the PPV and it’ll be the very first time Sting laces up his boots to wrestle a match inside the realm of WWE.His first opponent is Triple H. The feud began at Survivor Series 2014 when Sting made a shocking appearance much to the delight of fans all over the world. Since then, we’ve only seen Sting a handful of times but they’ve all been able to tell an interesting story with much left to the imagination still.Here are five Reasons why Triple H is the best guy to face Sting on his debut.
#1 Pure Evil
Every great hero needs a great villain. The Authority had already stamped its presence as the evil stable of the Reality Era. They’re an all-out heel group. There are no second thoughts about it, they are bad news.
On the other hand, Sting is an angelic character who looks nothing like an angel but he does have a commanding presence. He’s the Vigilante. He’s reprising the role that he thrived in WCW and it’s working even now, 14 years after WCW went out of business.
The dichotomy of Triple H’s character and Sting’s character will work in the favor of this feud.
#2 The Equalizer
The Fast Lane crowd was more on the non-participative side of things. They hardly reacted. Why were they even there? Well, in all its entirety, it was a decent PPV. The Triple H- Sting confrontation had the COO do all the talking and then a brawl ensued.
For the first time in the WWE, Sting was attacked and lost control for a while of his surroundings, only to obviously come back and gain the upper hand. The best moment came when Triple H brought his old friend to the fore- The Sledgehammer.
He turned around to see Sting get his old friend- the black baseball Bat. That gives their match some added, symbolic props.
#3 Sting\'s Persona
Triple H does not have the greatest reputation in the WWE. He’s known to carry around his imaginary shovel. That’s a metaphor for him burying great talent.
That reputation has only been challenged in recent times with him handling the best show WWE produces- NXT.
But, despite all of that Triple H is one of the most powerful WWE personalities and that does give him a towering image and a lot of attention. Sting going up against Triple H presents opportunities to bring the powerful back to planet earth. It attains the attribute of making them a bit humble.
The way Triple H has been paying attention to Sting gives him a powerful image in itself. He isn’t looking down upon Sting but being cautious about the whole deal. That has only accentuated Sting’s mystique.
#4 Stephanie McMahon
One of the best parts of having an evil stable like Authority is to watch Stephanie McMahon dole out great performances one after the other. She is one of the greatest heels ever. She makes any feud worth paying attention to with her presence.Her mic work is impeccable and she almost always comes out to support her husband in his time of need.
And there is no better time than now, when he faces the unlikeliest opponent ever in the form of Sting. He has no idea what Sting is capable of.
It’ll be something to watch out for if Stephanie and Sting cross paths.
#5 The history
This match between Triple H and Sting is one of the marquee matches on the biggest WWE PPV and this match up is between two legends of the business.
They have much history to ponder about between them. Triple H has been doling out those lessons in the past few weeks. We are still waiting for Sting to come out with the valid explanation for his motivation to make life hell for The Authority.
They are two of the biggest icons of the business and they’ll get fans old and young alike to watch Wrestlemania only for them. They’ll get an old fanbase to maybe start caring about the product even more.
Also, Sting has said this before that the only reason why he never signed with the WWE was because he was unsure about how they’re going to use him.
But with his feud with Triple H, he is certainly being used well.
