Best NBA DFS Plays & Picks for tonight - October 18 | 2022-23 NBA Basketball Season

Sacramento Kings v Los Angeles Lakers
Patrick Beverley of the Los Angeles Lakers is a great NBA DFS play tonight.

The regular season kicks off tonight with two exciting primetime matchups. Both NBA DFS DraftKings and FanDuel slates will begin at 7:30 p.m. EDT tonight. Let's look at the best players to target for both production and value this Tuesday, October 18.

NBA DFS Star Picks

Jaylen Brown, SG/SF, Boston Celtics (DraftKings $8.0k, FanDuel $8.0k)

Jaylen Brown had an excellent year last season and maintained his high level of play all the way through the playoffs. Ultimately, his team fell to the Golden State Warriors in the Finals, but now Brown and the Celtics will look to get back to the Finals, starting tonight.

Brown isn't too expensive on either platform, and the last time he played the 76ers, he recorded 29 points and eight rebounds in a blowout win. He usually features as the second scoring option to Jayson Tatum, but it's not uncommon to see Brown lead the team in scoring and field goal attempts. Look for the All-Star wing to start the season strong in the opener.

Other NBA DFS Star Picks: Anthony Davis, PF/C, Los Angeles Lakers (DraftKings $8.5k, FanDuel $10.1k)

NBA DFS Value Picks

Patrick Beverley, PG/SG, Los Angeles Lakers (DraftKings $8.5k, FanDuel $10.1k)

Patrick Beverley was shipped over to the Lakers during the offseason, and he'll make his debut in purple and gold tonight. Beverley only averaged 9.3 points per game last year, but he usually shows out in bigger games. He also chips in with around five assists per game, and he also averaged 1.2 steals and 0.9 blocks last year. Look for Pat Bev, who has always been a great defensive presence, to have an all-around stat line tonight as the Lakers battle Golden State on the road.

Al Horford, C/PF, Boston Celtics (DraftKings $4.9k, FanDuel $6.0k)

Al Horford was a huge part of the Celtics' finals run last year, and he figures to be a big contributor again this season. Horford averaged 12 points, 9.3 boards, and 3.3 assists while chipping in with a bunch of blocks and steals during last year's playoffs, and he should pick up right where he left off. With fellow big man Robert Williams set to miss the opening couple of months, Horford is guaranteed to get more touches, rebounds, and as a result, fantasy points than usual. Expect the veteran center to have a well-rounded fantasy game tonight as he faces his former team, the 76ers.

Other NBA DFS Value Picks: Tyrese Maxey, PG/SG, Philadelphia 76ers (DraftKings $5.0k, FanDuel $6.5k)
