With 100 days until the Paris Olympics 2024, Noah Lyles has issued a strong message to his opponents and fans. This came after he won the gold medal at the Tom Jones Invitational in the individual event — the outdoor season opener in the 100m.

Lyles kickstarted his Olympic outdoor season at the Florida Relays held at the University of Florida. It turned out to be a disappointment as he could not complete the race after miscommunication during the baton exchange phase of the final leg of the relay. This incident has seemingly fueled his desire and hunger to excel in the upcoming Olympic games.

Lyles took to X to share a video with a powerful voice-over, as the countdown to the Paris Olympics reached the 100-day mark. The video starts with the 26-year-old running the 200m final in Tokyo, where he clinched the bronze medal. It was followed by some of the best career highlights of the American after the Tokyo Olympics where he dominated the racing pack and won races.

Describing his Tokyo Olympics 200m final run, Lyles said in the video:

"At that point, I was just, you know, broken. Here was a moment that I dreamt of, for you know six years, seven years, and not even getting the medal that you felt you deserved. It was at that moment where I realized, there is no deserving."
"Same Animal Different Beast! 100 days out!," read the caption.

Noah Lyles will march into the Paris Olympics as a World Champion in three events. After the Tokyo Olympics, Lyles put forward several world-class performances, one of them being the iconic 200m final run at the World Championships in Eugene, clocking 19.31, the third-fastest time in the history of the 200m.

Earlier this year, as the anticipation for the Olympic games was building up among fans, Lyles expressed his desire to win four gold medals at the Paris Olympics. To achieve this 'never achieved before' feat, he would have to participate in the 100m, 200m, 4x100m relay, and the 4x400m relay events.

“Last year I went out there and won three gold medals. This year, I want to get four. And if I don’t get four, I am going after three world records.” (via The Guardian).

As the outdoor season progresses, Noah Lyles will be participating in several events before he makes his appearance at the coveted United States Olympic trials.
