Though not many people were excited about Stomping Grounds, the show exceeded the expectations. A total of nine matches took place at the Tacoma Dome, and all the matches were fantastic.

Seven titles were on the line at Stomping Grounds, but only two belts changed hands. Three titles of SmackDown Live were defended at Tacoma Dome. The WWE Champion Kofi Kingston had a resounding battle with Dolph Ziggler in a Steel Cage match as the former managed to retain the belt, but it was a close finish.

Despite having to deal with Nikki Cross at ringside, Bayley managed to defeat Alexa Bliss. The SmackDown Tag Team Champions Daniel Bryan and Erick Rowan defended the twin belts successfully when they beat Heavy Machinery. Moreover, Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens overpowered Xavier Woods and Big E.

The upcoming SmackDown Live will be held at the Moda Center in Portland. Extreme Rules is the next pay-per-view of WWE and some new storylines could begin on the blue brand this week. Here we discuss three things WWE could be planning on the SmackDown Live after Stomping Grounds.

#3 Charlotte Flair could return and re-enter the SmackDown Women's Title picture

The Queen

Charlotte Flair's last appearance was two weeks ago when she participated in the triple threat match. Besides Charlotte, Carmella and Alexa Bliss were part of the match, nds Bliss won the match to challenge Bayley at Stomping Grounds. Charlotte is a leading name of women's division and she is likely to come back this week.

Since Charlotte was not scheduled to be part of Stomping Grounds, it could be the primary reason for her absence in the past two weeks. It will be interesting to see if Charlotte re-enters the SmackDown Women's Championship storyline this week.

The Queen lost the most coveted women's prize of the blue brand at Money in the Bank when Bayley cashed in the contract. Considering she never got a rematch to reclaim the blue belt, it will not be surprising if Charlotte demands a rematch on SmackDown Live this week

#2 Carmella and Ember Moon could form a new team

While Carmella has been appearing with R-Truth, she has also been used in another storyline. The former SmackDown Women's Champion is having a rivalry with Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville. In fact, Carmella faced Rose and Deviile in past few weeks but she failed to pin either of the two women.

Ember Moon, on the other hand, is a new member of the blue brand but she hasn't been used after the Superstar Shake-Up. However, Rose and Deville broke Moon's video game system two weeks ago. Moon also had a brawl with Deville and Rose on SmackDown Live last week.

Judging by the storyline, Carmella and Ember Moon have two common enemies. It will not be surprising if Moon and Carmella team up to take on Rose and Deville this week. Considering the Women's Tag Team division needs a big boost, Moon and Carmella could be great additions. Moreover, they could be propelled well in a Tag Team.

#1 Finn Balor could pick a fight with Aleister Black

Finn Balor, who is the Intercontinental Champion, didn't have a match at Stomping Grounds. Balor's last bout was at Super ShowDown where he defended the belt against Andrade. After skipping SmackDown Live the past two weeks, he is expected to return this week.

Since getting drafted to SmackDown Live, Aleister Black hasn't wrestled but he has been delivering awe-inspiring promos every week. Black has been urging someone to pick a fight him. Furthermore, he also opened a door for his next opponent. Both Balor and Black have dark characters and they could offer an exciting rivalry.

Considering Balor will be searching for his next challenger on SmackDown Live, he could be the one answer the door of Aleister Black this week. It could garner the attention of the fans if Balor answers the door with his Demon Balor persona.
