5 alternatives matches to Kurt Angle vs Triple H

Kurt Angle
There can be better matches on the card

When WWE announced that Kurt Angle will be inducted in 2017 class of Hall of Fame, every fan started making their lists of Kurt Angle matches they wanted to see. However, one name that probably didn't make the list of many is Triple H.

As of the current booking, it seems that Angle's first singles match in WWE is all set to be against Triple H. However, with so many options available, this match is probably not 'Best for Business'.

There are many matches that will create more buzz than this one. Here we look at the five alternatives Kurt Angle matches that we'd much rather see.

#5 Kurt Angle vs Jason Jordan

When The American Alpha was disbanded, it was interesting to see where Jason Jordan and Chad Gable will head up to. While Chad Gable was teamed up with Shelton Benjamin, Jason Jordan was revealed as the illegitimate son of Kurt Angle.

The storyline was not well received by the fans and despite being a face, Jason Jordan was often subjected to boos from the crowd. With things clearly not working out for him, a heel turn seems inevitable and who better to blame than his own father who left him when he needed him the most.

This match could do wonders for Jason Jordan's career. He is a talented wrestler who has been booked into a very stupid storyline.

#4 Kurt Angle vs Shane Mcmahon

One of the most important matches of Shane Mcmahon's career was against Kurt Angle. The two feuded in 2001 leading to a street fight at King of the Ring 2001. The match was a historic one despite many failed spots. The match showed more light on Shane Mcmahon's willingness to go to any extent to win the match.

Although Kurt Angle emerged victorious in the end, Shane Mcmahon impressed everyone. Years later, there is still a chance to see them face again at Wrestlemania. The foundation has already been laid. While The Prodigal Son has put up great singles matches against the likes of The Undertaker, AJ Styles and Kevin Owens, The Olympic Gold Medalist, too, hasn't lost his touch.

Samoa Joe and Kurt Angle share a lot of history with each other. After leaving WWE in 2006, Kurt Angle signed with TNA on September 24, 2006. The Olympic Hero's first feud was against The Samoan Submission Machine, Samoa Joe. At Genesis 2006, Kurt Angle made Samoa Joe tap out to Ankle Lock, ending his eighteen-month winning streak.

Their feud won Pro Wrestling Illustrated's Feud of the year 2007 award. Not many could have predicted that in 2017, Samoa Joe and Kurt Angle will both be part of WWE. The match isn't actually just a dream as both Samoa Joe and Kurt Angle are on the same brand. With Joe's Wrestlemania plans still hanging in the air, it will be great to see the two wrestle at Wrestlemania.

#2 Kurt Angle vs Brock Lesnar

Brock Lesnar is one of Kurt Angle's arch-rivals and also a former tag team partner. The two feuded with for the majority of 2003. The feud won the 'Feud of the Year' award by Pro Wrestling Illustrated and The Wrestling Observer Newsletter. They put forward many wrestling classics notably their WWE Championship match at Wrestlemania 19 and The Iron Man match on SmackDown.

Both Kurt Angle and Brock Lesnar are familiar with amateur wrestling and that's probably why both of them have such a good chemistry. As of now, Lesnar is The Mayor of Suplex City and but "The Wrestling Machine" is as much aware of suplexes as Lesnar is. Perhaps, he is one of the few guys who has a two-way ticket to the Suplex City.

#1 Kurt Angle vs John Cena

John Cena is the inarguably the biggest star to come out of the Ruthless Aggression. He has been the face of the company for more than a decade. However, Kurt Angle played a major role in morphing Cena in his early days.On June 27, 2002, John Cena made his televised debut in a losing effort against Kurt Angle. Despite the loss, John Cena had an impressive showing. John Cena was pushed to his limits in the ring as well as on the mic.

Angle was inducted into the Hall of Fame by none other than "The Champ". At Survivor Series 2017, John Cena had another confrontation with Kurt Angle. Eventually, the "Cenation Leader" was eliminated by The Olympic Hero but the battle wasn't over.

When the official account of WWE Universe tweeted a video of John Cena and Kurt Angle's confrontation at Survivor Series, the Olympic Hero replied with the following tweet

“Full circle. Nobody can deny these two are among the very best. Question is, will it occur again in a one on one??? We will see. @JohnCena "

With that tweet, fans are hoping for the match to take place sooner than later as both Cena and Angle have limited time left in the ring.
