5 Female Wrestlers with the best matches of WWE Main Roster 2017

WWE Women evolved out of the divas' era
WWE women evolved out of the divas era

WWE has seen a major change in the way women have been used in the company since the outbreak of the Women's Evolution(or Revolution, depends on Vince's mood). Gone were the days of divas and evening gown matches, and we are grateful for that.

Since then, we have seen some amazing female wrestling happening in the company. But who were the best this year? Let's take a look.

#5 Natalya

Natalya
Natalya delivered great matches this year

It's no surprise the Queen of Harts made it to the list. Natalya is a fantastic worker with a lot of years under her belt. Her training in the Hart dungeon shows in the ring, as she delivers mature technical performances time and again.

Notable Matches this year:

Natalya vs Naomi: Summerslam 2017

Natalya vs Charlotte Flair: Smackdown Live 14th Nov 2017

#4 Naomi

2017 has been the year of the glow. Naomi has had a fantastic run in 2017, winning the belt for the first time in her career. A well deserved year after years of service to the company, Naomi proved why she deserves to be at the top of the card, delivering great matches time and again against wrestlers like Alexa Bliss and Charlotte Flair.

But perhaps the peak of her year came at WrestleMania 33 when she won the SmackDown Women's Championship in her hometown of Orlando. What made this moment great was that at WrestleMania 29, her mixed tag match was cancelled and put on RAW the next night instead. If you follow Total Divas, you'll know just how devastated she was. So for her to have that moment at WrestleMania in her hometown this year is truly a culmination of all the hard work she's put in for the company. On top of that, she got a pretty solid 4-month run with the title, which not many can say they've had.

Her unique entrance and "glow" factor added a lot of character to her in-ring personality, and we can't wait to see what 2018 has in store for her!

#3 Alexa Bliss

Little Miss Bliss
Little Miss Bliss

The Goddess of WWE makes this list owing to her ability to consistently deliver great matches week in and week out. Bliss has developed one of the most intriguing in-ring personalities we've seen in a while and is arguably the best heel women's' champion in recent history.

Although there has been a fair criticism of her in-ring performances, there's no doubt that she's the standalone best on the mic in the entire WWE women's division. Like her or not, she is championship material.

Notable Matches this year:

#2 Asuka

The Empress of Tomorrow
The Empress of Tomorrow

The Empress of Tomorrow made her main roster debut on October 22 at the TLC event, defeating Emma that night. Since then she has squashed jobbers and Dana Brooke repeatedly. A lot is to come from Asuka on the main roster next year.

However, she ranks high on this list owing to her sublime performances as part of the NXT roster. Her feuds with the likes of Nikki Cross and Ember Moon have been nothing short of legendary. Her undefeated streak as NXT Women's Champion has cemented her NXT legacy.

With a unique blend of freaky athleticism, great persona, diverse and move set and fantastic mat in-ring ability, they rarely come any better than Asuka.

Notable Matches this year

Asuka vs Nikki Cross: Last Woman Standing Match, WWE NXT, June 28, 2017

#1 Charlotte Flair

"The Queen" Charlotte Flair

This woman has just been leading the pack for the past couple of years. Coming off a historic feud with Sasha Banks that practically defined the Women's revolution for the WWE, The Queen delivered amazing performances as part of both the Raw and Smackdown roster.

Even though she was out for a couple of months owing to her father Ric Flair's health, Charlotte amazes us with her stunning moonsaults and gracious Figure 8's whenever she steps in the ring.

A true joy to watch and a flagbearer. Charlotte Flair remains the face of WWE's Women's Division.
