Dream matches are always very intriguing. Although we have seen a few of them, there are still plenty of them we have not seen yet.

The problem that arises is that many of the biggest names of the company have hung up their boots. While some of them did it willingly, some were forced to do so due to injury.

Regardless, we still want to see them return for one more match. Here are 5 legends we want to see come out of retirement for another rodeo.

#5 Daniel Bryan

Bryan's return would set the WWE Universe on fire
Bryan's return would set the WWE Universe on fire

Daniel Bryan is inarguably the most over wrestler of his time. His popularity matched that of Stone Cold or Hulk Hogan, in my estimation at least.

However, due to multiple life-threatening injuries, Daniel Bryan had to announce his retirement on February 8, 2016. Such an untimely retirement deprived the fans of many classic matches that he could have graced us with.

Daniel Bryan badly wants to return to the ring but his body might not allow that to happen. However, if we do ever see him wrestle again, I would love to see him go against The Miz. The history they share will give a fitting ending to Bryan's career.

Remember that Daniel Bryan and The Miz have a personal rivalry of their own. One that began on Talking Smack recently

#4 Sting

<p>

Sting is arguably the biggest star to have made his name outside WWE. Ever since WWE bought WCW, it was everyone's dream to watch him in WWE. The wait was long but at Survivor Series 2014, Sting did make his WWE debut.

However, during his bout at Night of Champions against Seth Rollins, Sting suffered a legitimate neck injury. The injury eventually forced him to announce his retirement during his Hall of Fame acceptance speech. It was a decision that was necessary but one that left many fans disappointed.

This deprived the fans of seeing him face The Undertaker. Sting has claimed that facing Undertaker is his "unfinished business" in professional wrestling.

Everybody wanted this match to happen, however, with Taker almost retired (following his match with Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 33) and Sting completely retired, we might not see it happen.

#3 Edge

Who wouldn't want to see Edge return for another match?
Who wouldn't want to see Edge return for another match?

Edge was one of the most consistent performers in WWE from the Attitude Era right up till his retirement. Edge was a natural heel but succeeded equally well as a face.

However, on April 11th, 2011, Edge announced his retirement from professional wrestling due to a life-threatening injury. Just like Daniel Bryan, Edge retired at the prime of his career when he could have had several fantastic moments and feuds in WWE.

With his retirement, it also took away many potential classics which we could have seen if he was still wrestling. The idea of seeing him and AJ Styles mix it up in the squared circle sends chills down the spine.

Let's move to yet another legend, who had his career cut short due to an injury.

#2 Stone Cold Steve Austin

And that's the bottom line, readers!
And that's the bottom line, readers!

Stone Cold Steve Austin was perhaps the biggest star of the Attitude Era. Stone Cold drew reactions which cannot be matched by anyone.

His entrance song alone was enough to make the crowd go nuts. However, multiple neck and knee injuries forced him to retire in 2003.

Stone Cold has made several appearances since his retirement. Each one of them has been super cool.

One guy on the current roster that I would have really loved to see feud with Stone Cold, has to be Dean Ambrose. The war of words would have been epic.

Nothing better than to see two anti-hero personas going all out against each other.

#1 Shawn Michaels

And here's the final name of our list
And here's the final name of our list

Shawn Michaels will go down as the greatest performer of all time in WWE. Shawn Michaels has been part of many classics throughout his career, on a regular basis.

His in-ring ability is second to none. However, Michaels retired too soon. Of course, no one is invincible and age takes its toll. Michaels set a bar too high. There have been so many guys who were called the Next HBK but fell well short.

John Morrison and Dolph Ziggler are just two of them. However, if there is one guy who I would love to see face Michaels, it is Seth Rollins. Seth Rollins is a technical genius. Just like Michaels or Styles, he can put on a great match with anyone.

What makes Michaels top this list is the fact that there are multiple matches he could have and they would all be instant classics. HBK vs Styles, HBK vs Rollins, HBK vs Kevin Owens. The list goes on and on.
