Kanako Urai, performing under the ring name Asuka in NXT, debuted back in September 2015. After dominating the entire female division of NXT, she was successful in capturing the NXT Women's Championship by making Bayley tap out at NXT Takeover: Dallas.
Recently, WWE announced that the NXT women's champion will tour with the main roster for the Live event in Japan, most probably on July 1st and 2nd. Asuka may possibly be booked in a match against WWE Women’s Champion, Charlotte, at the live events in Japan, which will presumably be a Champion vs Champion match.
Asuka will also be a part of WWE’s tour in Honolulu, Hawaii which will take place on June 29th. The tour will feature top WWE superstars including World Heavyweight Champion, Roman Reigns, AJ Styles, Chris Jericho, Bray Wyatt, the Usos, Women’s Champion Charlotte, The New Day and Shinsuke Nakamura.
This will be WWE’s first live event in Hawaii since 2009. With Asuka being featured in several WWE live events, does it mean that she will bag the coveted main roster debut soon? According to reports, Bayley is the most likely name to make the jump next after she dropped the title to the Japanese superstar.
