Opinion: Seth Rollins must sell his soul to the devil to beat Brock Lesnar at WWE SummerSlam

This Sunday at SummerSlam, Seth Rollins will once again look to become the BeastSlayer as he squares off against Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship. This will be the third meeting between the duo (if you count Lesnar's cash-in at Extreme Rules) in 2019 with both Lesnar and Rollins holding a win apiece over one another. This is potentially going to be the rubber match to a feud which started with Rollins winning the Royal Rumble and going on to defeat Lesnar for the top prize on RAW in the opening match of WrestleMania 35.

Rollins is the overwhelming underdog heading into his match against Lesnar on Sunday. Rollins had a great 2018 where he cemented himself as the top babyface on RAW. As the Intercontinental Champion, The Kingslayer put on great matches against the likes of Apollo, Elias and Kevin Owens. His feud against Dolph Ziggler propelled the latter to heights we thought he would never reach again.

But 2019 has been an entirely different story. Despite having a great one-off match against AJ Styles at Money In The Bank, Rollins' title reign has been a damp squib due to the company's inconsistent and in part baffling booking. His on-screen pairing with Becky Lynch and Twitter tirade defending WWE didn't help matters either as it put off fans in a big way. This wasn't more evident than last week on RAW where after being battered by Lesnar once again, Rollins was showered with 'What?' chants whilst trying to cut a promo.

The IWC has already turned on the man who was the cynosure of their eye for a long time and we believe that it's time for Rollins to return the favor. They say we have to strike when the iron is hot and there hasn't been a better time for Rollins, especially after the all the negativity surrounding him within the IWC, to turn to the dark heel.

Rollins was great as the heel champion in 2015 and was one of the most despised men in the company during his time as the WWE World Heavyweight Champion. There is one reason why he can't do the same in 2019. Rollins is in desperate need of a character shift/change and we believe that the match against Lesnar is the perfect place for Rollins to turn on the WWE Universe.

Lesnar is one of the most protected superstars in WWE and it is highly unlikely that the company will have Rollins pin the Beast clean. The only possible way we see Rollins beating Lesnar once again is by outsmarting Lesnar. That includes using underhanded tactics/shenanigans and perhaps even aligning himself with Lesnar's advocate, Paul Heyman if push comes to shove.

For the past two weeks, we have seen Heyman being concerned about Rollins' well-being, although not stating it explicitly. This won't be the first time that Heyman has turned his back on Lesnar as he had previously done the same in 2002.

Rollins turning heel and walking out of SummerSlam as the Universal Champion would be the best ways to end his feud with Lesnar.
