Steve Austin's TV show crew walks off production set

Steve Austin during the shoot of Broken Skull challenge

The crew of Steve Austin’s Broken Skull Challenge, which airs on CMT, walked off the job this morning as per reports from Deadline. They are demanding an IATSE (International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees) contract and want health benefits, pension benefits and other measures of a union contract.

The Motion Picture Editor’s Guild and IATSE are representing both production and post-production workers on the show and are putting up a picket line outside the offices of show producers 51 Minds Entertainment.

“All members, prospective members, and other post production professionals are instructed to refrain from rendering service to this production for the duration of the work stoppage,” said the Editors Guild today. The crew members are seeking health and pension benefits and other measures of a union contract.

Deadline notes that Austin’s Broken Skull Challenge was in the process of putting together a third season. No word yet on when the work stoppage will be called off and the situation resolved but we’ll keep you updated.
