WWE most improved superstars of the week: The Real Americans

As performers, The Real Americans have always been great. But this week they seemed to be getting even more popular with the crowd.

St. Louis is not considered to have an arena filled with the majority of hardcore fans, but just hours ago on RAW, it did seem like one.

Even though Antonio Cesaro could not swing Sweet T into many revolutions but as far as the tag team division is concerned, the Real Americans look like they are getting more and more and more attention and that can only mean a real threat to the other tag teams in terms of popularity.

They’ve clearly come a long way compared to Swagger’s erratic career graph and Cesaro’s losing streak following his stint as the U.S. Champion. The match they had with tons of Funk was not that great and one would clearly make out that this was the way to show the audience how strong Cesaro and that is what happened when he gave a Neutralizer to Clay and a botched giant swing on Tensai.

It was also interesting to see the real Americans do a babyface move and interact with the crowd to build up the Giant Swing.

This night saw St. Louis giving a hometown welcome to Randy Orton to which Orton did not return the favour. Promotional videos for Cena’s return were shown in what seems like a move taken by the WWE in 2002 to hype up Triple H’s return.

Triple H returned one of the most memorable crowd reactions in Madison Square Garden. But Cena getting a similar reaction is hard to predict because he has some passionate detractors. There was no Dolph Ziggler. No Damien Sandow. The Los Matadores continued to fight 3MB, and all this led to a spectacular main event where the Shield lost the titles to the Rhodes Brothers.

The Shield and the Rhodes Brothers will most probably continue their feud and as far as Shield’s record for awesome matches go and as far as the great presence of Goldust and Cody Rhodes goes, this feud will be great for both.

The momentum this feud has given to the young careers of the Shield members and Cody Rhodes is tremendous. And WWE’s dismal ratings seem to have led the WWE management give the main event spot to these superstars.

Big Show made another superb brief appearance. For a man this tall, short appearances seem to be doing the part.

Moving back to the Real Americans, they will most probably feud with the Los Matadores and with this feud the tag team division has become more relevant than it ever has been in the PG Era.

Cesaro and Swagger look like a strong team with great in ring chemistry. Their entrance theme keeps sounding much more majestic, and the ‘We The People Chants’ seem to have more takers each passing week.

Zeb Colter is a great manager and a great mouthpiece for these two and the camera shot of their entrance with them running towards the ring was great as well. This is so much in contrast with the elaborate Matadores entrance.

Here’s hoping that the feud is way better than Matadores’ debut.
