WWE News: Beth Phoenix will join the WWE announce team at WrestleMania 

What's the story?

Beth Phoenix joined the WWE announce team for WrestleMania and will be part of the announce team for the first ever WrestleMania Women's Battle Royal.

In case you didn't know...

Beth Phoenix was chosen to commentate on the Mixed Match Challenge earlier this year and it seems that the former Women's Champion has obviously impressed throughout the last few months since the company has now given her a position on the Grandest Stage Of Them All.

Phoenix would have been one of the women that were chosen to be part of the WrestleMania Women's Battle Royal after her incredible showing at The Royal Rumble a few months ago, but it seems that the WWE Hall of Famer has been chosen to sit behind the desk instead.

The heart of the matter

Beth Phoenix will join Jerry Lawler and Jim Ross as part of the WrestleMania kick off show this weekend when the duo calls the action for the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal. Phoenix will then take the reins for the WrestleMania Women's Battle Royal.

Phoenix herself was in attendance for The WWE Hall of Fame Ceremony last night where she confirmed that she would be part of the show in an interview with Charly Caruso.

What's next?

The former Champion will be on hand to call all of the action of the historic first ever WrestleMania Women's Battle Royal on Sunday night.

Author's take

Phoenix was a breath of fresh air throughout the Mixed Match Challenge and it will be great for there to be a female perspective on the panel whilst the match is going on.

Phoenix should really have been someone who was in the match, but it seems that her commentary skills have now been revealed to the world and WWE decided that she was better suited behind the desk.
