WWE Superstar Eva Marie recently participated in an interview with International Business Times' Anthony Riccobono. In the interview, Eva talked about a lot of topics ranging from emulating The Rock's career, her potential return to the ring, and her reality TV show Total Divas.
Superstars like The Rock, John Cena, Randy Orton, and Dean Ambrose first tried achieving success through their in-ring work and then made their foray into films. However, Eva Marie is doing it entirely the other way around. Eva Marie has spent more her time working on ventures outside the ring, rather than in it.
Speaking on her unusual game-plan, Eva Marie said that:
“After a few months [in WWE] I was like ‘OK, if I could emulate The Rock’s career that would be fantastic to make a crossover like how he’s done.’ I really want to take the Eva Marie Brand and do both [wrestling and movies] for as long as I can.”
Just last month, Marie finished shooting on her upcoming and debut film "Inconceivable". Eva will be starring alongside Nicholas Cage, Gina Gershon, Nicky Whelan, and Faye Dunaway.
Immediately after the shooting for this movie wrapped up, Marie packed her bags and headed straight to Vancouver, Canada where she's currently filming "ACTION #1" in which, she'll be seen playing the role of a Bounty Hunter.
Interestingly, Marie's got the same manager and agent as The Rock, which, explains the movie roles.
During the interview, Marie also spoke about her clothing line, NEM Fashion. NEM Fashion — had its launch this Fall. Marie said that she created NEM Fashion with a goal to make affordable clothing for women. She announced her intentions of donating a portion of profits from her fashion line to her NEM Foundation.
The NEM Foundation works towards promoting self-love and positive body image among women.
“I myself have gone through a lot of trials and tribulations with insecurity and body dysmorphia, and stuff like that. So creating a clothing line, it’s not just about the clothes and fashion. Of course, I love the quality and things of that nature, but it’s also about self-love and promoting that for young women.”
Ever since her suspension from the WWE, after violating the Wellness Policy, Marie hasn't been seen on live WWE programming since August. The current season of Total Divas chronicles her journey (pre-draft) back to the WWE.
“You have to believe in yourself. I’ve put in the work so I do think I’m ready to come back and shake things up because I think the WWE Universe is tired of seeing something repeated, meaning some people possibly going against each other. There’s not one person like Eva Marie, and I definitely think that I’ve shown that, and I think that’ll be a huge dynamic when I come back.”
Marie plans to return to SmackDown LIVE, where she's yet to make her debut. Although Marie knows that she cannot do the same kind of stunts Sasha Banks or Charlotte can — she's confident about holding her own in the ring against any female competitor in the ring.
