During tonight’s WWE NXT TV tapings at Full Sail University, NXT General Manager William Regal announced that ‘The Samoan Submission Machine’ Samoa Joe will be defending his NXT Championship against ‘The Demon’ Finn Balor in the main event of NXT Takeover on June 8th at Full Sail.
The match is expected to get some type of stipulation, but as of today nothing has been announced.
After defeating ‘The Drifter‘ Elias Samson in a match during tonight’s tapings, which will possibly air on the May 11th episode of WWE NXT on the WWE Network, Finn Balor cut a promo demanding his rematch, saying that he wants to take back what belongs to him.
Samoa Joe came to the ring to answer Balor’s call, but William Regal stopped the duo from getting physical and announced that Balor will get his rematch at the next NXT Takeover special on June 8th. Balor after hearing the announcement dove over Regal and attacked Joe to end the segment.Finn Balor lost the NXT Heavyweight Title to Samoa Joe via pinfall after suffering a devastating Muscle Buster for the 3 count, at the NXT Live Event in Lowell, Massachusetts on April 21, 2016 which aired on the Network on this week’s episode of WWE NXT. Joe’s victory put an end to Balor’s record-breaking reign as NXT Champion of 292 days, which surpassed the mark set by ‘The Man That Gravity Forgot’, Neville in 2014.
