According to reports from Inquisitr.com, Sasha Banks was supposed to win the first ever WWE Women’s Championship at Wrestlemania in a triple threat match between Charlotte, Banks and Becky. Charlotte and Sasha Banks were originally planned to have the singles match but Becky got herself over to a point where WWE officials had no choice but to put her in the match. Becky was definitely a long shot away from winning that night.
But reportedly Becky’s involvement meant the delay for Sasha Banks’ title reign, also after Wrestlemania Banks remained out of action for few months. So there’s no telling if that was also the reason for the delay.
A lot of reports did come out were Sasha was supposed to win the title at Summerslam .But following Battleground and the high profile WWE brand split, an event like a change of WWE Women’s Championship would have meant more emphasis on the first week on WWE Raw .
Anyways. in any case Sasha Bank winning WWE Women’s Championship was just a matter of time. And it remains to be seen if she remains the women’s championship even after SummerSlam.
