WWE News: Triple H lavishes praise on several NXT talents

Triple H praised the author’s of pain

What’s the story?

During a recent interview with ESPN, WWE’s Paul “Triple H” Levesque praised the work of several NXT names who he believes are upcoming superstars, including the NXT Tag Team Champions the Authors of Pain.

In case you didn’t know...

The NXT developmental system is Triple H’s brainchild, with The Game originally suggesting the idea and concept to Vince a few years ago. The former World Champion took over the day to day operations of what was then known as FCW, before turning it into the global phenomenon that we all know and love today which is, of course, NXT.

The heart of the matter

The following comments were made by HHH during the aforementioned interview.

"There are a few guys in our performance centre right now that are just sort of guys you've never heard of that have never been anywhere. Not even in the indies," said Paul "Triple H" Levesque, executive vice president of Talent, Live Events & Creative for WWE. "The two kids in [the Authors of Pain] tag team in NXT. Those are two kids we picked them from nothing. No experience. Period. Anything. A year later, they are a really, really good tag team. There's a lot of talent like that."

He also went on to praise names such as Otis Dozovic, who is one-half of Heavy Machinery, in addition to Aleister Black.

What’s next?

NXT will continue to grow and develop under the tutelage of The Game, with more and more independent stars and fresh talent being brought in with every passing day. Some fans were quick to predict the demise of the brand after several recent call-ups, however, they’ve been able to rebound pretty strongly with the likes of Drew McIntyre and more now back in the fold.

Author’s take

It’s great to hear some names like Otis, Black and the Authors of Pain get some recognition after seeing how hard they’ve all worked to get to where they are now. There’s potential in all of them to be significant successes on the main roster one day, but we’d like to see them remain down in NXT for the time being in order to help further their development.
