WWE RAW Preview: February 25th 2019

The Big Dog is back!
The Big Dog is back!

It's going to be an interesting episode of Monday Night RAW as we're less than two weeks away from WWE Fastlane. You'd think that more matches would be announced by now, but that hasn't been the case. With only two episodes of RAW remaining until the final major stop on the road to WrestleMania, you can certainly expect a lot of matches to be announced.

Last week, we saw quite a shake-up as four of the very top NXT Superstars (excluding Adam Cole and Velveteen Dream) made their main roster debuts, all finding great success. Their success would be repeated on SmackDown Live as well.

Braun Strowman got quick revenge on Baron Corbin in a tables match, while Dean Ambrose was defeated with relative ease by Drew McIntyre. The main event saw Ronda Rousey defend her RAW Women's Championship in a second-successive night against the leader of the Riott Squad - Ruby Riott. This time, it wasn't such a one-sided affair.

With returns and debuts pending, here's what to expect from an exciting episode of Monday Night RAW!

#5. Ric Flair's 70th birthday party

Wooooo!
Wooooo
!

It's going to be full of festivities this Monday night on RAW! The Nature Boy Ric Flair returns to WWE television for the first time since October. Last time, it was to celebrate SmackDown 1000 and Evolution. This time, it's for his 70th birthday party.

What better way to celebrate it than in front of the fans who love him the most? The McMahon's are undoubtedly going to be around, which begs the question as to who will be the party pooper.

We all know that celebrations can't end without interferences. Will his own daughter Charlotte Flair be the one who comes out and spoils the party? She's certainly made her father cry before!

#4. What's going on with Dean Ambrose?

Last week, Drew McIntyre wanted an opportunity and confronted Triple H. Dean Ambrose came out and provoked him, leading to a match between the two. Surprisingly enough, McIntyre somewhat squashed Ambrose in no time, finishing him with not one, but two Claymore Kicks.

After the match, Seth Rollins was backstage minding his own business when Ambrose came to ask where he was, as if it was pre-October when they were still allies. Rollins asked what was wrong with him and Ambrose shrugged and walked away.

He seems to have forgotten the events that happened over the last few months. The prior week, he wished Rollins luck against Brock Lesnar. Is he officially turning face for good as his contract comes to an end? What is going on with Ambrose and his memory?

#3. The Boss 'N' Hug Connection seek title challengers

Sasha Banks and Bayley's honeymoon period is going to end sooner than later. They seemed destined to become the first-ever WWE Women's Tag Team Champions, and that's exactly what happened at WWE Elimination Chamber.

The following night on RAW, they talked about their dreams coming true, and soon enough, they were confronted by the biggest threat in the Chamber match - Nia Jax and Tamina. Though the duo didn't manage to get the job done inside the chamber, they seemed to make it clear that they're next in line to challenge for the titles. It's going to be interesting to see what happens and if any other team steps up to the plate to challenge Banks and Bayley.

Either way, the Fastlane card is still relatively empty and there need to be new challengers for the title. Banks and Bayley will undoubtedly be the underdogs in the match, just from a physical perspective.

#2. Will the NXT Superstars rise to the occasion again?

E

Last week began with a major surprise, as WWE revealed prior to RAW that four top NXT Superstars were backstage - NXT Champion Tommaso Ciampa, now-former NXT North American Champion Johnny Gargano, Aleister Black, and Ricochet, who are former NXT and North American Champions respectively.

It came as a surprise that four of the six top male stars in NXT debuted on the same night. After all, Triple H has been against the NXT champions appearing on the main roster. Also, how Gargano and Ciampa are suddenly able to team together after all their animosity is a mystery.

Either way, they all had extremely successful starts on RAW, with Ciampa and Gargano renewing their classic rivalry against RAW Tag Team Champions the Revival. Aleister Black beat Elias while Ricochet teamed with Finn Balor to beat Bobby Lashley and Lio Rush.

With all of them replicating their success on SmackDown against different opponents, will their momentum continue heading into RAW this week?

How will Gargano's North American title loss to The Velveteen Dream affect him?

#1. Roman Reigns returns

When was the last time a return was this exciting? The Big Dog Roman Reigns is back on WWE television for the first time since late October 2018. As you know, his announcement on that date was a tragic one, as he revealed he was battling leukaemia again.

He had to relinquish the Universal Championship that he fought so hard to win, but his vacancy led to a major opening in the top spot. His former Shield brother Seth Rollins seems to have stepped up to the plate.

Vince McMahon revealed on Twitter that Roman Reigns will be making an appearance on RAW to give the WWE Universe an update on his battle with leukaemia.

This is nothing short of exciting. Fans and all of Reigns' friends and peers will be excited to tune in to see what he has to say. While many have estimated that he won't be back until early 2020, it's going to be interesting to see what he has to say.
