WWE Rumor Roundup for the week

Vince to sell WWE?

The busy hours of WrestleMania did not slow down the flood of rumors on the internet. Most of the rumors from this past week focused on WrestleMania while only a handful looked elsewhere. We are going to take a dive into the latter category and dissect them to see how they could impact the WWE landscape as a whole.

The rumors included the possible sale of WWE, the NXT superstar that could get called up to the main roster soon, and WWE rethinking the push of a major superstar. We could see some former TNA talents heading to WWE as well according to the rumors. Here is a detailed look at them.

Investor interested in buying WWE

Should Vince Sell?

John de Mol, who is a Dutch media tycoon is apparently interested in buying WWE. According to the rumor mills, de Mol, who is a stakeholder in WWE, has made a standing offer to buy the company from Vince McMahon. There is no news on whether Vince is interested in doing so but the interest from someone like de Mol is indeed an interesting thing.

Meanwhile, TNA is in troubled waters and seeking new investors. Dixie Carter is looking to have some cash injections for the promotion but the potential investor that came in apparently wanted a major stake at the company which Dixie was not willing to give.

Strowman’s push ends

End of the push

WWE changed quite a lot of plans for WrestleMania and not letting Braun Strowman win the Andre the Giant Battle Royal was one among them. WWE pulled out the entire Wyatt family from the Battle Royal and allowed Baron Corbin to take center stage. The decision was made because Vince has lost his interest in Strowman.

Earlier, Vince was pretty high about the big guy, but now, things have cooled down. As a result of the same, WWE has also moved away from the idea of Braun Strowman vs. Brock Lesnar at this year’s Summerslam. Speaking about Lesnar, he might only have a couple of appearances left this year.

Samoa Joe to the main roster

Joe to be in main roster soon

Samoa Joe put on a great match at NXT Takeover against Finn Balor. Joe ended up losing the match but the loss could be good news for him. WWE is apparently thinking about calling up Samoa Joe to the main roster. He could make his debut soon and the fact that he was only booked for one NXT show in April fuelled these rumors.

With a string of new talent coming into NXT, WWE will have no trouble promoting Joe. Finn Balor, meanwhile, could still debut in the main roster even though he is the current NXT Champion. The Balor Club rumors are still strong and the debut could come sooner or later.

Former TNA talent to WWE?

WWE bound?

After the rumors about Bobby Roode and Eric Young making it to NXT, two other former TNA superstars also found their place in a similar rumor. Angelina Love, who recently had a baby, is no longer working for TNA. There are rumors about Angelina finding a way to NXT soon along with her former Tag Team partner, Velvet Sky.

Sky also left TNA recently and was apparently present during the Hall of Fame ceremony. There is no news on whether these two would go to NXT or the main roster but if they are signed up by WWE, the fans would love to see the reunion of the Beautiful people.

Bobby Roode and Kota Ibushi already signed with WWE

Already signed?

According to the latest rumors, WWE has already signed Bobby Roode to a contract. Roode recently appeared at NXT Takeover : Dallas and made everyone mark out. WWE even acknowledged him on camera which strengthened the rumors. Later, a photo surfaced on the internet in which Roode was seen on the NXT bus.

However, Roode is scheduled for the main event of House of Hardcore on May 7, and did not appear in any of the NXT tapings for April. From the looks of it, WWE has also signed a deal with Kota Ibushi who was seen in the crowd at NXT Takeover : Dallas.
