WWE WrestleMania 32: Kickoff show details, The Rock special and more

Shane McMahon will be a big part of WrestleMania this year.

Portions of Wrestlemania weekend, including the event’s pre-show, are set to air on USA Network. The news comes from a Friday press release from the network.

The cable access related to Wrestlemania will start on Thursday, March 31, when Smackdown will feature live segments from AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, the site of WrestleMania 32.

On Sunday, April 3, USA Network will be the home of the WrestleMania Kickoff Show, which will air at 6 p.m. and include the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal match. That match will include 20 superstars, according to the release.

Pay-per-view pre-shows have previously been broadcasted on the WWE Network for subscribers.

The Sunday programming on the USA Network will also include a movie marathon of films featuring WWE legend Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, before and after the kickoff show.

Later that week, in addition to the usual editions of Monday Night RAW and Smackdown, USA will air a one-hour WWE Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony special immediately following Smackdown on Thursday, April 7.

Inductees already announced for the 2016 Hall of Fame class include Sting, Big Boss Man, the Fabulous Freebirds, the Godfather and Jacqueline, and it has been reported that Sting will announce his retirement as part of his induction.
