Bam Adebayo is a professional basketball player who plays as a power forward/center for the Miami Heat in the NBA as of March 2025. The Miami Heat drafted Adebayo as the 14th overall pick in the first round of the 2017 NBA Draft. Since joining the Heat, Adebayo has dedicated eight seasons to the team, contributing to their six playoff appearances. In the season 2019-20, Adebayo became the runner-up for the Most Improved Player Award. Along with this, his defensive play also earned him the fifth spot for the Defensive Player of the Year in the same year.

The best of his performances were noticed in the 2022-23 season, where he led the Miami Heat to the NBA Finals. In the regular season, he averaged around 20.4 points, 9.2 rebounds, and 3.2 assists. Apart from his NBA career, Adebayo has been exceptional at the International level too. He was a key player for the USA Men’s basketball team which won the gold medal in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and the 2024 Paris Olympics. As of March 2025, Adebayo has played 556 games and is selected three times to the All-Star team. Adebayo also has recorded 8 triple-doubles in his career.

Bam Adebayo played for the University of Kentucky from 2016-17. He joined the University as a five-star recruit and he earned a spot on the SEC All-Freshman Team and the All-SEC Second Team. Adebayo played an important role in leading the Wildcats to the Elite Eight in the NCAA tournament. His towering height, along with his skills sets him apart and helps him on both ends of the court. In The Sweet Sixteen, Kentucky defeated UCLS where Adebayo grabbed 12 rebounds in a game.

Following this season, Adebayo decided to enter the NBA draft, where the Miami Heat selected him with the 14th overall pick. His time at Kentucky laid a solid foundation for his NBA journey, and since then, he has rapidly evolved with the Miami Heat.
