The Boston Celtics are a professional basketball team who are part of the Eastern Conference in the NBA. They were established in 1946 and have won 17 championships till date, the most in NBA history. The team plays their home games at the iconic TD Garden.

Led by the superstar duo of Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown, the Boston Celtics have established themselves as one of the best teams in the league in recent seasons. In the 2022-23 season, Tatum averaged 30.1 points, 8.8 rebounds and 4.6 assists per game, while Brown averaged 26.6 points, 6.9 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game.

The Celtics also traded for Jrue Holiday and Kristaps Porzingis this offseason, and will be hoping for a title push in 2024. Holiday is a two-time All-Star, and one of the best defenders in the league. Porzingis meanwhile, at 7 feet 3 inches tall can shoot from deep and rebound at a high level.

Joe Mazzulla is the new head coach of the Boston Celtics. He was appointed as a head coach on February 16, 2023. He was the assistant coach of the team for three seasons before this.

Joe Mazzulla led the Celtics to a 57-25 record in his first season as head coach in the 2022-23 season.

Why was the coach of the Celtics fired?

Ime Udoka was suspended by the Boston Celtics in September 2022. The reason for the suspension was violating the team’s policies. According to online reports, Udoka was suspended for one-year due to his involvement in an improper relationship with a female employee in the organization.

After his suspension Udoka apologized to all the players, fans and the entire Celtics organization, and his family for letting them down. In the statement he also accepted the team’s decision, and he was sorry that he put the team in a difficult situation. Udoka led the Boston Celtics to the NBA Finals in the 2021-22 season.
