The franchise then moved to the city of San Francisco in 1962, and was called the San Francisco Warriors. The Golden State Warriors were struggling in the 2000s, but by drafting Steph Curry in 2009, the franchise reshaped their trajectory. The Warriors then drafted Klay Thompson in 2011 and Draymond Green in 2012, who then went on to form a formidable trio alongside Stephen Curry. It led to the birth of one of the most dominant and iconic teams in NBA history. The trio went on to win their first title in 2015 by defeating the Cleveland Cavaliers in the NBA Finals.

The Warriors then went on to completely dominate the mid 2010s, winning three NBA championships. Two of them came back to back, while making five straight NBA finals appearances. The Warriors then completed their dynasty by winning the 2022 NBA finals, where they beat the Boston Celtics in six games.
