Born in Munich, Germany, da Silva comes from a family where his older brother, Oscar, plays for FC Barcelona. After a slow start in his freshman year with the Buffaloes, da Silva found his rhythm in his sophomore year. He started all 31 games and averaged 9.4 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 2.0 assists, while his shooting efficiency from the three-point line increased from 26.7% to 37.3%.


During his time with the Buffaloes, da Silva evolved into an efficient three-point shooter, achieving 39.4% in his junior year and 39.5% in his senior year. He ranks ninth in Buffaloes history with 150 career three-pointers made and third in effective field goal percentage (56.2%).


In his senior year, da Silva made his first March Madness appearance, playing a vital role in defeating Boise State in the First Four. He scored 20 points on 7-11 shooting from the field and 3-6 from deep, leading the Buffaloes to their first NCAA tournament appearance in three years. In two March Madness games, da Silva knocked down 6-10 three-pointers, proving his mantle under pressure.


Over his four seasons with the Buffaloes, da Silva averaged 11.7 points, 3.8 rebounds, 1.6 assists, and 0.9 steals, shooting 38.6% from deep. The German forward was part of the All-Pac-12 First Team in 2023 and the Second Team in 2024.
